Our mission
Codelia is an innovative educational project that introduces children aged 8 to 12 to digital skills, playful coding, and creative computing — in a family-like, caring and stimulating environment, just a stone’s throw from the sea.
We believe that digital technology is not just a tool, but also a wonderful field of exploration to develop curiosity, imagination and critical thinking in children.
Codelia is a community-driven initiative born at Villa Olivia in Ostend, driven by the conviction that every child, regardless of background or social context, should have the chance to discover and thrive in the digital world.
The team
Laurent
Founder of Codélia and Panglos Computer Services (Uccle & Ostend), graduate of the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) in Psychological and Educational Sciences.
I also worked for many years with Promethean, a global leader in educational technology (notably interactive touch boards). This experience gave me solid expertise in the pedagogical use of digital tools in the classroom, in direct contact with teachers and students.
My approach is centered on curiosity, project-based learning, care, and the quality of each child’s experience.
Assistant facilitator
Alongside me, an assistant supports the children in their daily activities, paying particular attention to hygiene, comfort, and group dynamics. Together, we ensure a balance between learning and well-being.
